The Cleveland High School PTA Needs You!
Last week the Cleveland High School PTA held our first fully in-person meeting since quarantine. This was a very special moment for us.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the CHS PTA Board has stayed strong and connected to each other and to our school. During my tenure, both as the current President and past Board Member-At-Large, we’ve organized our yearly calendar and have a clear budget. We’ve recorded informative sessions with important Cleveland community members, have solidified our online presence with our website and social media accounts, and have provided funds directly to teachers, student clubs, student affinity groups, and more.
We are very humbled to have been given the opportunity to make a positive difference in the Cleveland Warrior’s experience. However, in order to keep these programs funded and managed, we need the support of our PTA community now more than ever.
In less than a month, the CHS PTA will be holding elections for a new Executive Board. We are looking to pass the torch to a new set of dedicated volunteers who will take our documented successes and keep things going. Cleveland deserves consistency.
But, the unfortunate truth is that there has been little interest in the leadership roles that are vacating. And folks, if you love the CHS PTA as much as I do, then this should concern you. If we don’t fill the roles of President, Treasurer and Secretary, there will be no CHS PTA! We risk going INACTIVE.
So, who’s gonna raise their hand? Who is going to take over what we have proudly stewarded these past few years? If it’s you, then reach out to our Chair of Board Recruitment and CHS PTA Vice President, Amy Lewin at amylewinpdx@gmail.com
Spread the word! Membership is $25. Go to oregonpta.org/membership
And finally, I want to give a big Thank You to all our current Volunteers who make up today's Cleveland High School PTA!
All the best,
Melissa Toledo, CHS PTA President
