Principal Selection Process - Share your feedback
Cleveland Students and Families-
I know the last few weeks and months have been different at Cleveland. I appreciate the community welcoming Paul Cook back to Cleveland mid year and now working with staff as we transition to online learning in this global pandemic. While we are still putting together the framework for digital learning in high schools and plans for seniors, we are also working to continue the Principal Search for the new Cleveland Principal for the 20-21 school year. We are actively seeking your feedback and while normally we would have a few meetings at Cleveland, we will be doing the meetings virtually. Please look at options below for how you can provide feedback and if interested join the interview committee.
You can enter feedback online here https://www.pps.net/Page/2162
You can attend a google hangout.

Coming together (virtually) for CHS
Dear Friends of Cleveland,
Because we are all doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community, we wanted to let you know that the Spring Fling scheduled for April 11 is not happening.
While we are saddened to call off (yet again) an opportunity to come together in person, there are still ways you can continue to support our school and help us prepare for the school year ahead.
If you purchased a ticket in advance for the Spring Fling, we ask you to consider making this purchase a donation. No action needed. Thank you. If you would like a refund, please contact chsptapdx@gmail.com and a refund will be processed.
If you were planning to make a donation to the PTA & Foundation at this joint event, consider donating online. Our portal is open now. Proceeds will be split 50/50.
We expect our buy-in parties scheduled for this summer will continue. There are several opportunities, please consider purchasing a ticket in advance here.
Thank you for all you are doing to support Cleveland families in this challenging time.
Let’s continue to work together on what we can do to keep our school strong and connected. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
Sincerely,
Amy Lewin / Christina Marcoules

Mental Health and Emergency Resources for CHS Families during the School Closure
Parents please remember: stressed out adults have a hard time de-stressing youth. Parents need to do their best to remain calm, composed, and role model healthy self-care. Our immune system can become compromised when we are stressed out and lacking sleep.
Mental Health Resources
School Counselors and Social Workers at Cleveland High School act as first responders when it comes to mental health support, assessment and treatment. School closures affect student’s access to this professional support. If you know your student is suffering from a mental health condition such as anxiety or depression, parents are urged to be extra vigilant at this time.
1. Discuss a communication plan with your child and keep in touch with them during the day if you can’t be home with them.
2. Make sure they have a trusted ADULT to contact during the day if you are not available.
3. Ensure that prescriptions are up-to-date and filled, if applicable.
4. If self-harm or suicidal thinking is a concern, post crisis line resources at your home and make sure your child knows them.
· Multnomah County Crisis Line: 503-988-4888
· Oregon Youth Line: Text “teen2teen” to 839863
· National Suicide Prevention Hotlines:
